A tid bit about me...

I don't stroll. I am not walking through life, and I never settle. I am an adventurer! As I am passionate about rock climbing, hiking, fishing, and exploring new lands, so I'm also as passionate as exploring areas of the world with my pen. Much of my writing is me finding words to describe issues I'm wrestling through, or just words I wish to express on paper things that are on my heart. I'm a husband to one, and a servant to my Lord Jesus Christ, about whose relationship with myself I love writing about.

I write on various topics, societal issues or trends, applied theology, living the Christian life, linguistics, and inter-faith issues mainly between Christianity and Islam.

Some more populare posts that I've written, and ones that I've enjoyed writing immensely are ones that deal with the heart. It's the most mysterious thing in this universe, and I seek to pursue how it works. Of all the skills there are, I want to be able to speak to it effectively. Here are some top posts that I've written:
1. What's happening to my boys? (exploring the topic of manhood, and asking the question why men are not being challenged enough these days, and the consequences thereof)

2. A look into the difficult practice of forgiveness. (what does it really mean to forgive? how does justice play into forgiveness? why forgiveness is one of the most radical things one can do, and how forgiveness is actually counter-secular?)

3. Top 10 Books on Culture. (I often repost excellent blogs from other people greater and mightier than me, so this is one of them)

God has blessed me with a beautiful wife, who I met at our alma mater, Moody Bible Institute where I studied to become a Linguist. I have researched and documented a language that is dying out in eastern Turkey, called Zaza. Other than that, I'm in need of more Linguistic projects.

Emily and I have felt the call to ministry and are currently preparing to live in Turkey and live the way of the light in Turkey. Currently, I work at Sun-Times Media Group (a major newspaper in Chicago). Emily and is a teachers assistant in Public School system. We live in Albany Park.

I enjoy pretty much anything outdoors. Kayaking, canoeing, fishing, rock climbing, hiking, survivalist techniques, winter camping. As for indoors activities, nothing beats an evening of just a group of good friends sipping hot chocolate around a fireplace, in a cabin of the north woods, talking about anything. Socially, I just love people; it doesn't matter what we talk about. Musically, I play the piano, penny whistle, bhodran, uilleann bagpipes, mandolin, and currently learning the fiddle! If you like to just jam the evening playing folk/Irish music, call me up. Also, if you are a member of the Chieftans, God has providentially lead you here...I want to be a part of your band. My cell is 312-555-3456!

I love to connect with my readers, debate with my readers, or sometimes I may have to clarify things. If you have a question, or some things you just want to talk about, please comment on one of my posts.

I enjoy writing so much, and I likewise hope you enjoy what I write. God bless!
